Misunderstanding Globalization

This is no stats, no graph but for all those organizations who consider themselves GLOBAL or trying to be Global this is a true picture of Globalization. Consider children's in this photograph as ECONOMY and the NGO Workers as CORPORATIONS. Now the corporations who consider themselves global should ask themselves are they embracing a DISTANT ECONOMY in a fair way. The pictures has nothing to do with BUSINESS but can well be used as BENCHMARK for corporations having global ambitions.

This is also one reasons why LATE. PETER DRUCKER used to say "NON-PROFITS PROFITS US". Here is some lesson profit making organizations can take from non-profits. I can say non-profits are more global.

As JACK WELCH puts it corporations should not be trailed by the G D P but they should lead the G D P of a country. But I find a contradictory statement by the finest business C E O of our time is when he says" Companies are not global, businesses are". It gives me a feel that somewhere we are lacking in the global concept. From what I see corporations are really leading G D P everywhere and someday I wish I shall see a world map drawn in the name of corporations rather than countries. And for all those who want country map should project their countries as global corporations without barriers.

How About a Made in TATA instead of Made by TATA.

Its really a nice analogy of global companies vs picture posted with your post. Even I believe that companies are global and they are trying to become glocal i.e. Mc Donalds, Sony India, Accenture etc.

can you elaborate more how businesses are global in spite of companies?

In the ancient world kings always tried to spread their empires but in the end they always had to return back to their home land. Some became hordes. Some unfortunate ones never came back like Alexander. I don't know which way Indian companies are going in their quest for globalization, will they b able to hold their new fronts n lands. Wht abt the global companies entering India. Will they stay or b like hordes and plunder the wealth bcoz we r a rising economy?

Hey cool!..thats a too many thoughts and all genuine. What I believe is companies need to be a little selfless in there endeavor. They can be like Alexander who was great but was an intruder till his last time or they can be like Mughals and build a Taj Mahal..or a different model.
